Remove partitions from usb drive7/8/2023 Now, plug back your USB and hit the refresh tab again. Step 1: Launch Eassos PartitionGuru from your computer, and you can see disks and partitions on the main interface. Tick Delete partition and wipe data on it, and choose 'Fill sectors with Zero'. Install and open AOMEI Partition Assistant, and locate the external hard drive, and choose a partition by right-clicking. Once the installation is done, remove the Windows installation USB and hit the refresh tab. Next, download the disk and partition manager to see how it works. If you have any partitions in the drive, format them. On any version of Windows, you can press Windows Key + R, type diskmgmt.msc into the Run dialog, and press Enter. Make sure you remove all the internal as well as the external SATA drives. Partition deletion has the potential to result in data loss, so make a backup ahead of time. If you haven’t open the DIsk Management tool yet, you can do it by right-clicking in the bottom-right corner of the screen on Windows 8 or 8.1 and selecting Disk Management. You have four options for removing a USB drive partition: delete the partition using Disk Management, use the Diskpart command, or use the partition manager. For example, in the screenshot below, the external drive we want to wipe the partition from is “Disk 2.” It’s actually the third one in the list, but that’s because the first disk is “Disk 0” and the system counts from 0. Note the number of the disk you want to remove the partition from. You can’t actually use the Disk Management tool for most of this, but you can use it for one thing. You can’t simply remove the 200 MB partition and leave any other partitions alone - you’ll be wiping the drive’s contents and starting afresh with a new partition table. This process will actually wipe the entire external drive.
